History
As aforementioned, Movie Tavern is a subsidiary of Southern Theatres LLC. It is one of the three subsidiaries of Southern Theatres, the two other being AmStar Cinemas and The Grand Theatre.
Movie Tavern was founded in 2001 in Dallas, Texas. This would explain why most of its branches are located in the same state. However, in September 2013, it was acquired by Southern Theatres from Lee Roy Mitchell. This sale made Southern the eight largest theatre company in the United States.
Southern Theatres, LLC, the parent company of Movie Tavern, is a New Orleans-based company. It was founded by George Solomon in May 2002. The Southern is dedicated to provide the American movie-goers the best movie experience.
Movie Tavern has received numerous awards such as the Gold Marcom Award for Best Business to Consumer website. The website was chosen from 6,000 other entries. The judging process was done by Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals.
Movie Tavern Review
Out of 167 reviews on a famous review website, Movie Tavern got a ‘Very Good’ rating from 75 individuals. Thirty-eight (38) other individuals gave the movie theatre chain with an ‘Excellent’ rating.
The movie-goers liked the meal and a movie concept of Movie Tavern Collegeville. Jeffrey H noted that it was an interesting concept.
