History
West Nursery Cinemas used to belong to Hoyts, a group of companies popular in the industry of film exhibition and cinema advertising in Australia.
Hoyts owns a total of 450 screens spread throughout Australia and New Zealand. Its founder, Val Morgan, owns at least 95% of the company’s market share.
In 2003, a couple of Hoyts theaters were purchased by Regal Entertainment Group, but this specific cinema retained Hoyts unique logos and design.
After it was acquired by Regal, it started its operations as a self-regulating theater under an entirely different name, West Nursery Cinemas.

Most moviegoers commend the theater for its low-key nature, tidiness, crisp sound from its 7.1 Dolby HD system and digital high definition projection. This movie theater lacks 3D movie screenings and most films are shown just 2D, although its recent screen and speaker upgrades were well-appreciated by its patrons.
Typical popcorn and soda can be bought for snacks and a few chains of restaurants can be found around the area, making it a perfect place for viewers who are into the “dinner and movie” type of thing.
Searching for parking spaces is always a pain in the neck, but the cinema’s ample parking space attracts movie-goers as they do not need to worry about not getting in on time for their movie.
